Forward planning 2024, PEKTOS FIBERS

All PEKTOS fibers are 100% natural fibres manufactured from fresh raw materials. Our production cycles are closely linked to the harvest of fruits and vegetables grown by regional farmers.

PEKTOS relies on long-term and close cooperation with the farmers and our suppliers to source the highest quality raw materials. We focus on long-term relationships and supply contracts.

In the Northern Hemisphere, the harvest season starts in August and September. It is crucial for our planning to secure enough raw materials to supply the market with fibers of the highest quality and in the required quantity. In anticipation of the realisation of several major development projects using our fibers, we also plan to stock up an additional 20-30% of raw materials.

We have, therefore, asked our customers and distribution partners to provide us by the end of August with their anticipated requirements for the period until the end of 2024 for PEKTOS BEET FIBER BF, CARROT FIBER KF and APPLE FIBER AF.

The citrus harvesting season in the Southern Hemisphere will start in early 2024. For this reason, we do not require a budget for the PEKTOS CITRUS FIBER CF at this time.

We thank everybody very much for your highly appreciated support.

EU sugar beet sector on track to carbon neutrality

The European Association of Sugar Manufacturers (CEFS) is pushing for decarbonized supply chains without overburdening fossil-free electricity. The trade body has released a document – Climate Neutrality Toolbox – examining how to decarbonize Europe’s beet sugar production by 2050 in the face of climate change, droughts and pest infections.

CEFS members have set an ambitious commitment to slash carbon by 2030. Actualizing these commitments will lead to a reduction of at least 30% by this date, highlights the association.

“Given that the industry has already cut emissions by 59% between 1990 and 2021, this sets the industry well on the way to climate neutrality,” states the organization.

Our new Application Data Sheet is available now. Please use the button below to download.

Healthy nutrition and regular exercise are prerequisites for physical and mental well-being.

If you want to do something good for your health, look first at your diet, and consume less fat, more fiber. Nutritionists recommend a daily fiber intake of at least 30g, which is almost twice as much as an adult eats on average. PEKTOS BEET FIBER BF 5 is ideal for adding fiber to the daily diet.

Regularly consuming PEKTOS BEET FIBER BF 5 helps to control cholesterol levels. Blood sugar level fluctuations are reduced – essential, particularly for people with diabetes. Meals enriched with PEKTOS BEET FIBER BF 5 saturate quickly due to the increased fiber content and help to cope with weight gain problems. The fibers also absorb liquid and swell strongly, preventing constipation. PEKTOS BEET FIBER BF 5 is naturally gluten-free (<5ppm) and thus offers a valuable contribution to a fiber-rich diet for gluten intolerance. Unlike oats or wheat bran PEKTOS BEET FIBER BF 5 does not affect the absorption of iron and zinc.

PEKTOS BEET FIBER BF 5, with its water binding capacity of 5 g of water per 1 g of fiber, is available in a range of particle sizes from very fine to coarse, un-milled, and even as rolled flakes.

PEKTOS BF Sugar beet fiber – is just right for you

Consumers are very aware of the health benefits of a higher fiber intake; however, it is often unknown that different fibers have various advantages.

PEKTOS BF Sugar Beet Fiber, produced from sugar beet pulp after the sugar extraction, has a low residual sugar content of less than 5%. The fiber is a mix of insoluble and soluble fiber, the insoluble part is mainly hemicellulose, and the soluble component is pectin.

Several clinical studies with sugar beet fiber describe its advantages for the human body. On top of these, it has functional properties, e.g., prolonging freshness in bread and reducing frying losses in minced meat due to its thermostable water holding.
